THE NATIONAL TRIAL LAWYERS: TOP 40 UNDER 40

Frances Prizzia's history with the legal system begins more than a decade ago. While attending Santa Clara University School of Law – where she would graduate in 2005 with a Juris Doctor – she was a certified law clerk at the Public Defender's office in Santa Cruz. It was here that she discovered that her calling was defending the criminally accused, the people who needed legal help more than anyone else. Her first PD job was in Orange County which is why she focuses on this area but handles all of Southern California. She quickly gained a reputation as a staunch defender of the presumption of innocence and the virtues of an unbiased criminal justice system.
